New Canaan Coronavirus: 2nd New Canaan Man Dies From The Virus
Gov. Ned Lamont announced the town's second COVID-19 casualty on Thursday evening.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A second elderly New Canaan man has died from complications from the new coronavirus (COVID-19), Gov. Ned Lamont announced Thursday evening.
The patient, whose identity was not released, was in his 80s, and he was the state's third victim of the virus, and second from New Canaan. Where he was being treated also was not disclosed.
"To date, there have been three fatalities in Connecticut due to complications related to COVID-19," Lamont said. "Those three cases include a man in his 80s from Ridgefield, which was announced yesterday, a man in his 80s from New Canaan, and another man in his 90s who was also from New Canaan. Both of the New Canaan men were living in private homes."

Earlier on Thursday, New Canaan First Selectman Kevin Moynihan announced that 91-year-old Bill Pike had passed away on Wednesday. He was a retired Wall Street businessman and member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in New Canaan, and he was being treated at Norwalk Hospital.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Connecticut soared to 159, up from 96 a day ago, with 44 cases reported at Greenwich Hospital alone.

On Friday, New Canaan is hosting an appointment-only drive-thru test collection facility, announced Emergency Management Director Mike Handler.
