New Canaan Coronavirus: Library, Grace Farms Closed
Schools are closed; Town Hall is open only part-time for "essential services."
NEW CANAAN, CT — Grace Farms and the New Canaan Library are temporarily closed, the latest facilities to shutdown in New Canaan due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
"Your health is our top concern; New Canaan Library is closed until further notice," officials wrote on the library's website.
The Grace Farms website carried a similar message.

"Out of an abundance of caution, Grace Farms has temporarily closed to the public," officials wrote.
"The safety of our visitors and staff is our top priority. While there has been no case of COVID-19 connected to Grace Farms, we feel it is important to take preventative measures to the extent possible and do what we can to help ensure the health and safety of all at Grace Farms.

"During our temporary closure, Grace Farms Foundation will continue to monitor the situation and follow guidance from the CDC.
"We look forward to re-opening as soon as possible."

According to Elizabeth Rapuano, director of Communications Grace Farms, "events and programs happening at least through March 24 will be rescheduled for a later date."
The internationally renowned church and foundation will honor registrations for rescheduled dates, and "all registrants will be updated once there are new dates for those programs."
On Wednesday, public and private schools in New Canaan were closed for two weeks in an effort to halt the spread of the virus, which already had infected an elderly resident. He is being treated at Norwalk Hospital.
In the meantime, New Canaan Town remains open part-time, but only for essential services, according to officials.
