New Canaan Country School Re-Opens Lower School Building
Renovations enhanced learning spaces for students in grades 1-4

From New Canaan Country School: NEW CANAAN, CT — Trustee Stephanie Zeigler ’81 of Rowayton, on the left, and Head of Lower School Meaghan Mallin of New Canaan officially re-opened New Canaan Country School’s Welles Lower School Building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Students in first through fourth grade arrived with their families to find a refreshed, lighter, brighter divisional building.
“New building, same heart” was Ms. Mallin’s opening theme for her faculty, staff, students and families. “Our Lower School space now better reflects who we are as a learning community: joyful, energized, and child-centered. All around there are cues to our children that say, “This is your space.” Of course, what really sets our Lower School apart is the culture and community we share together within our walls. We feel very lucky to share that magic in this beautifully updated building!”
New Canaan Country School is a co-ed, independent school for students in Pre-K through Grade 9. Located on 75-acres in New Canaan, the school provides bus transportation to families living throughout Westchester and Fairfield counties. For more, visit www.countryschool.net.
