Extrication Needed In New Canaan Crash That Closed Road: Update
The crash occurred late Friday morning on Smith Ridge Road.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Smith Ridge Road in New Canaan is currently closed Friday, July 13, as police investigate a motor vehicle crash with injuries, according to authorities.
"As a result of the investigation Smith Ridge Road will be closed to all traffic between Country Club Road and North Wilton Road," wrote New Canaan police in a statement. "Motorists should take alternate routes and avoid this area. The closure is expected to last for at least 3-4 hours."
Additional details were not immediately available, but the New Canaan Fire Department posted a photo on its Twitter page of firefighters, police officers and EMS personnel involved in the extrication of the occupant in the one-vehicle crash:
