New Canaan Dad Who Provided Fatal Heroin To Son 'Mourns' Everyday: Update
Christopher Lynch, 25, died of a fatal overdose in September, 2016. His father reached a plea deal to help heal, says his attorney.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Mark Lynch, the 58-year-old New Canaan father accused of providing the heroin that killed his son, Christopher, last year, pleaded guilty Friday in a deal with prosecutors, reports the Stamford Advocate.
Christopher Lynch died from an overdose in September, and Mark Lynch initially pleaded not guilty to second-degree manslaughter in December.
Under the terms of the plea deal, Mark Lynch will be sentenced to three years in prison later this year. He could have faced substantially more time in prison had he been convicted in a trial.

In an emailed statement to Patch, Mark Lynch's attorney said his client mourns his son everyday, and he hopes this plea helps those who loved Chris "heal as best they can."
"Mark’s guilty plea to negligent homicide is more consistent with what took place than the original charge of Manslaughter 2nd Degree," said Matthew Maddox of The Maddox Law Firm, LLC. "Mark mourns the loss of his son every day and he mourns and will always have to live with his part in his son’s death. He hopes that the conclusion of this case will help the many people who loved Chris to heal as best they can."
