The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
As a selectman, I am committed to:
1) Ensure fiscal prudence and responsible financial management in strategy, operations and capital planning.
2) Provide priority support to our high-quality education, infrastructure, and parks and public safety.
3) Improve community access and communication regarding town plans and projects.
4) Adopt an open and full Board of Selectmen review and approval process for appointed positions on our boards and commissions.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
My focus as a selectman has been to serve all constituents by leveraging my unique experience in finance, strategy, and operational budgeting and long-term capital planning to bring best practices to municipal governing. I seek to bring balance to the Board of Selectmen which includes two other individuals who are experienced corporate attorneys.
Accomplishments:
My leadership experience in finance, technology and governance has served as the foundation of my previous service on New Canaan's Board of Finance, and Town Council and as interim CFO for the town. I led the creation of the town's Audit Committee and Ethics Board.
Other issues:
My advocacy, both for and against issues that come before the Board of Selectmen, is based on thorough research, respectful Q&A and with an ear to listening to all sides of an issue. My experience as a corporate executive and board member of Fortune 500 companies guides my contributions to the community with the view that our citizens - children, and adults and seniors - come first.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I am known as a collaborator - inspiring and working with others (regardless of political affiliation) to get things done. It has truly been an honor to serve this wonderful community where our constituents' voices matter. I am most grateful to all for your consideration of my candidacy and your vote on Nov. 2.
