New Canaan Family Saved From Fire By Their Dog And Alarm: Report

The incident occurred early Tuesday morning.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A New Canaan family is safe following a fire in their Hemlock Hill Road home early Tuesday that was discovered by their dog, reports the New Canaan Advertiser.

The family contacted the New Canaan Fire Department just before 3 a.m. after the dog began barking and a smoke detector went off.

But the blaze, which was behind a wall in the basement, was difficult to find, and firefighters had to use special equipment to detect it before extinguishing it.
