New Canaan Football Defeats Wilton, 28-14

Matt Milano throws three TD passes as the Rams improve to 7-0

The New Canaan football  team chalked up another victory Friday, as Matt Milano threw three touchdown passes to lead the Rams to a 28-14 victory over Wilton.

New Canaan overcame the absence of tight end Connor Kilbane (pregame injury) to improve to 7-0 and stay in the hunt for the FCIAC championship.

After throwing six touchdowns in last week's 43-14 win over St. Joseph, Milano went back to work in the first quarter Friday, tossing a 45-yard TD strike to Peter Kraus.

Wilton (3-4) suffered its fourth straight loss, but played the Rams tough and pulled even in the second quarter on a 8-yard keeper by quarterback Sean Carroll, who returned to the lineup after missing last week's 35-34 double overtime loss to Darien with a concussion.

New Canaan grabbed a 14-7 halftime lead on Milano's 35-yard TD pass to Duke Repko.

Wilton answered again, tying the contest 14-14 in the third quarter on Carroll's 20-yard TD burst, but Kevin McDonough's 2-yard TD run put the Rams up for good.

Milano provided an insurance score in the fourth quarter with a 15-yard TD toss to Kraus.
