New Canaan Has State Aid Cut in Half in Latest Malloy Plan
New Canaan's $915,000 fiscal year 2019 state aid grant would be cut by 49 percent to $467,000 under Malloy's plan.

NEW CANAAN, CT - The bad news keeps coming for Connecticut municipalities as the state attempts to claw out from under its budget mess.
Under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's revised, proposed adjustments to the fiscal year 2019 budget previously adopted by the legislature state municipal aid would be cut nearly $100 million - both in the education and non-education side.
New Canaan would receive 49 percent - or $447,805 less under Malloy's plan. Previously it was slated to get $915,029; now, $467,225.
