New Canaan Man Accused Of Leaving Scene Of Crash: PD

The crash occurred late Wednesday night on North Wilton Road in New Canaan.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 19-year-old New Canaan man was arrested late Wednesday night after he allegedly smashed his vehicle into a utility pole and then walked away from the scene, according to police.

Marharshee Roy, of Hidden Meadow Lane, was charged with evading responsibility and failure to drive right in connection with the 10:15 p.m. crash on North Wilton Road in New Canaan.

Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of North Wilton Road on a report of a crash and found an unoccupied vehicle off the road having struck a utility pole. They soon found the operator, Roy, and took him into custody.

Roy was released after posting a $260 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on April 10.
