New Canaan Man Beat, Choked Victim During Altercation, Police Say
The alleged assault occurred at a residence on Deacon's Way in New Canaan.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 56-year-old New Canaan man was arrested on strangulation and assault charges Thursday afternoon after he allegedly beat and choked a victim during an altercation in a residence on Deacon's Way, according to New Canaan police.
Andrew F. O'Malley is accused of also pushing the victim to the ground and punching them in the head. He was arrested just after 4 p.m. at his home, following the victim's complaint to police.
O'Malley was charged with second-degree strangulation and third-degree assault, and was released after posting a $10,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on June 30.
