New Canaan Man Charged with DUI After Crash

An officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver disobeyed his signal.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Police arrested a Frogtown Road man after he was found to be driving while intoxicated, according to police.

An officer attempted to pull over a vehicle that was going 60 mph in a 45 mph zone Feb. 19 on New Norwalk Road. The vehicle failed to stop and the officer disengaged his attempt to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle was later found to have crashed into a vehicle that was traveling northbound on New Norwalk Road, police said.

David Tensen, 24, smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests, according to police.

He was charged with DUI, speeding and disobeying the signal of an officer. He refused to submit to a BAC test.
