NEW CANAAN, CT — A New Canaan man whose wife was shot to death in May has been charged with murder, according to police.

Albert Kokoth, 77, was transported from Bridgeport Correctional Facility to Stamford Superior Court and processed on the charge Tuesday. He was held on $2 million bail.

Police Lt. Jason Ferraro said Kokoth called police on the afternoon of May 6 and said there was an accidental shooting at his home on Down River Road. Ferraro said Kokoth's wife, Margaret, was shot and killed.
