New Canaan Man Charged with Son's Heroin Overdose Death Appears in Court
The man is accused of providing his son with heroin that was used in a fatal overdose, police said.

NEW CANAAN, CT—A man charged with manslaughter in connection with his son's fatal heroin overdose appeared in court Friday.
Mark Lynch's attorney called the situation "tragic," according to News 12 CT.
Police responded to a Parade Hill Road address Sept. 25 on a report of an unresponsive male later identified as Chris Lynch, 25. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lynch's father Mark Lynch, 57, was interviewed by police and told investigators that he gave Chris heroin the night prior, said Lt. Jason Ferraro, police spokesman.

Chris went to sleep around 8 p.m. Sept. 24 and during the night Mark Lynch said he heard gurgling noises coming from Chris' bedroom, Ferraro said. He found him unresponsive the next morning.
He is charged with second-degree manslaughter, possession of narcotics and illegal distribution of a hallucinogenic substance. He was released on a $150,000 bond.
Christopher Lynch graduated from New Canaan High School in 2009.
