New Canaan Man Killed In California Snowboarding Accident
The man was found unresponsive and declared dead on scene.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A New Canaan man was killed after a snowboarding accident on advanced terrain at the Northstar California Resort in Truckee, California, Thursday.
Michael North, 43, was found unresponsive in a tree well, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal. Three others tried to give the man CPR, but he was unresponsive. Fire officials arrived, but they too couldn't revive the man.(Get Connecticut Patch's daily newsletter and real-time news alerts here.)

Northstar released the following statement to KTVN, "Northstar, Northstar Ski Patrol and the entire Vail Resorts family extend our deepest sympathy and support to our guest's family and friends."
There were no witnesses to the incident.
