New Canaan P&Z To Review Applications, Hold Public Hearing During Upcoming Meeting
The New Canaan Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to meet on March 9, 2026; here's what's on the agenda.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to review a number of items when it meets for a hybrid special meeting scheduled for Monday night.
According to a meeting agenda available on the town's website, the commission will convene at 7 p.m. on March 9 in the town meeting room at Town Hall, located at 77 Main Street, as well as over Zoom.
One of the items listed on the agenda is a preliminary presentation for 30 Parade Hill Road, where an applicant is seeking site plan approval pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes Section 8-30g.

The proposal calls for construction of a 14-unit residential structure in the B Residence and Half Acre zones at the property. The item is identified as a preliminary presentation only, according to the agenda.
The commission is also scheduled to consider two other site plan applications during the meeting.

At 21 South Avenue, an application is seeking approval to allow a change of use from a retail store to a personal service establishment on the first floor in the Retail A Zone, according to the agenda.
At 94 Park Street, an application seeks to allow a change of use from general to medical office in the Business A Zone at the property, according to the agenda.
During a public hearing portion of the meeting, the commission is scheduled to hear an application for 635 Frogtown Road, the location of New Canaan Country School.
An application is seeking a special permit to allow soil disturbance in excess of 10,000 square feet, grading of material in excess of 1,000 cubic yards and construction of a retaining wall, portions of which would exceed four feet in height, in connection with the alteration of three existing athletic fields, according to the agenda.
The agenda also notes two of the fields are proposed to be converted to artificial turf.
Additional agenda items include possible administrative actions or other matters as may properly come before the commission, which includes an amendment to the 2026 meeting schedule and unit count reduction and square footage changes at Burtis Avenue, among other items.
The commission is also scheduled to vote on approval of its meeting minutes for Jan. 27, 2026, before adjournment.
