Tucked at the end of a private drive, the home is highlighted for its classic character and scenic seasonal views.
   

2. New Canaan Fire Marshal Offers Outdoor Fire Safety Tips (patch.com subscription) — New Canaan's fire marshal is urging residents to follow specific outdoor fire safety rules before lighting fire pits, chimineas, or campfires, especially during high wind or poor air quality days. The guidance stresses using only clean wood, avoiding smoke nuisances to neighbors, and keeping fires at least 10 feet from buildings. Residents with questions can call the New Canaan Fire Department directly.
   

3. Warrant: Surveillance Video, Cell Phone Data Show Man, 28, Stealing Backpack from NCHS Track (newcanaanite.com) — New Canaan police used school surveillance video, license plate data, and cellphone records to obtain a warrant for a Norwalk man accused of stealing a backpack from the New Canaan High School track in June. The bag, later found in a Norwalk parking lot, was missing a laptop and calculator. The suspect, charged with fourth-degree larceny, is free on bond and ordered to stay away from NCHS.
   

4. CT to bolster fund that has helped thousands buy first-time houses in a tough market (courant.com) — A state program called Time to Own, which helps first-time buyers with forgivable loans for down payments and closing costs, is set to receive another $5 million and has already supported nearly 9,600 purchases statewide. New Canaan is among the communities where residents have used the program, which can provide up to $25,000 at 0% interest for those meeting income and residency rules.
