New Canaan PD Pitches In For Special Olympics Connecticut

And you can help them raise funds this weekend.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Several New Canaan police officers will be at this Sunday's Caffeine & Carburetors event in New Canaan collecting funds for Special Olympics Connecticut and the Connecticut Law Enforcement Torch Run, according to a post on the police department's Twitter page.

Special Olympics Connecticut states on its website that it "provides year-round sports training and competition opportunities for close to 13,000 athletes (individuals with intellectual disabilities) and Unified Partners (individuals without intellectual disabilities who are the athletes’ teammates)."

Caffeine & Carburetors is "a gathering of automotive enthusiasts" held over several spring and fall weekends in New Canaan. This weekend's edition is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on April 14 at Pine & Elm streets.
