New Canaan PD Seeks Funds To Support Department's K-9 Program
A GoFundMe page for the effort has raised nearly half of the money.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Police Department is continuing to raise funds for its K-9 program, for which a GoFundMe page has already generated almost half of its $100,000 goal.
"Our goal is to raise funds for a new K-9 that will be trained in narcotics detection," wrote officials in a statement. "The new K-9 will likely be a Labrador Retriever or a German Shepherd."
The program is operated by Off. David Rivera with donated funds that also cover the cost of equipment. As of today, July 18, the GoFundMe effort has raised just over $48,000 in a little under three years.
