New Canaan Police Conduct Tobacco Compliance Checks
A total of nine stores were checked to make sure they weren't selling to minors.

Nine New Canaan stores passed a tobacco check with flying colors Wednesday.
Police in conjunction with the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and Tobacco Prevention and Enforcement Program conducted the unannounced compliance inspections.
An underage youth employed by TPEP was instructed to attempt to purchase tobacco products. All nine stores were in compliance.

Food Emporium, 280 Elm Street
Best Cellars, 282 Elm Street
Mobil Station, 16 South Avenue
Stewarts Spirits, 227 Elm Street
Gulf Station, 36 South Avenue
Walgreens, 36 Pine Street
Vegetable Barn, 22 Cross Street
MacKenzie’s, 7 South Avenue
Mobil Station, Merritt Parkway (south)
