As a sworn officer with an out-of-state certification, Agoglia will need to take various courses designated by POSTC to attain his Connecticut certification. He will begin his comparative certification training on Jan. 3, the majority of which will take place at the New Canaan Police Department through distance learning.
The tentative completion of that training will be mid-February. After completion of that training, Nicholas will undergo approximately eight weeks of field training with the New Canaan Police Department before being assigned solo patrol duties as a probationary police officer.
A Brookfield resident, Morey graduated from Brookfield High School and recently earned her bachelor's degree from Western Connecticut State University, where she majored in justice and law administration.
She will begin her recruit training Dec. 29 at the Connecticut Police Academy's 377th training session in Meriden. The tentative graduation date for that class is during the week of July 17.
After completion of the academy, Morey will undergo a minimum of 400 hours of field training before being certified as a probationary police officer.
