New Canaan Police will be paying extra attention to traffic violations near schools as the school year starts.

New Canaan Police announced that they will intensify traffic enforcement near schools as the school year starts.

Officers will be assigned to marked and unmarked vehicles, said Chief Leon Krolikowski. Police will be looking for motorists who exceed the speed limit, use handheld cell phones, pass stopped school buses and violate other motor vehicle laws.
