New Canaan Police Officially Announce Capt. DeMaio's Retirement
DeMaio leaves to head Clinton Police Department after 26 years with New Canaan Police.

NEW CANAAN, CT- The New Canaan Police Department has officially announced the retirement of 26-year veteran Capt. Vincent DeMaio.
DeMaio will leave to become chief of Clinton Police Department in April. His last day with New Canaan is March 31, said Police Chief Leon Krolikowski.
"We wish Captain DeMaio and his family well in his future. We congratulate him on his 26 years of service and wish him much health, happiness and success in the future," Krolikowski said. "Throughout his many years with our Department he was the embodiment of our institutional core values of honor, courage and commitment."

DeMaio joined the department in 1989 and climbed his way through the ranks. He also serves as the department's accreditation manager to assure the department is successfully re-accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

He also serves as a assessor for CALEA and evaluates other agencies for accreditation. DeMaio also holds a Master's in Public Administration from the University of New Haven.
