New Canaan Police Solves Mystery Of Wandering Unidentified Child
The child was located and is safe, according to authorities.
NEW CANAAN, CT — An unidentified child rang the doorbell of a home in Valley Road area of New Canaan Monday evening and then disappeared, touching off a frantic search by police in the area before the child was found safe, according to authorities.
Details about the child, other than the boy is about 7 to 8 years old or so, and why he was out wandering in that neighborhood were not disclosed.
The child was seen on the doorbell's video surveillance camera at about 6:30 p.m., and about an hour and a half later an emergency call to residents about the boy was released by Emergency Management Director Michael Handler.

New Canaan police were quick to clarify that the department had not received a report of a missing child, but the department deployed officers and a police dogs to the area in an effort to find him.
How the child was found also was not disclosed, but the department was grateful of the public's help in solving the case.
