New Canaan Public, Private Schools Decide On Afternoon Schedule

Connecticut was in the midst of a nor'easter on Friday, and more than 10,000 residents around the state are without power.

NEW CANAAN, CT — New Canaan public and private schools will dismiss early today, March 2, due to the inclement weather. All after school and evening activities are cancelled.

The public school dismissal schedule is as follows:

  • 1:05 - NCHS & Saxe 7/8
  • 1:15 - Pre-K
  • 1:45 - South Elementary School
  • 1:55 - Saxe 5/6
  • 2:35 - East & West Elementary Schools

New Canaan Country School will close at 1:30 p.m. for all grades, and buses will depart at that time. All after-school activities are cancelled. (If the early closure requires a different plan that what you have indicated in Dismissal Planner, please email the administrative assistant for your division AND your child's classroom teacher. At St. Luke's School, all senior drivers will be released immediately (and may take siblings), according to officials. Middle School students will be released at 12:00pm; all Upper School students should be picked up at 12:30pm. All after-school activities have been cancelled. (Tonight’s Middle School Musical performance of "The Wizard of Oz" is postponed. There are two chances to see the show this weekend, at 3:00pm Saturday and Sunday).
