New Canaan Radio Antenna Plan Withdrawn

A proposal to put an emergency communications radio tower in north Stamford has been axed.

NEW CANAAN, CT — First Selectman Robert Mallozzii III announced that New Canaan has withdrawn an application to have an emergency communications radio tower erected in north Stamford.

"I spoke to New Canaan First Selectman Mallozzi earlier this week," said Stamford Mayor David Martin. "He showed an acute understanding of the concerns that Stamford residents raised about a radio tower in North Stamford. I got the sense that he wanted to be a good neighbor to Stamford and I deeply appreciate that."

Martin also thanked the Stamford Zoning Board for handling the application.
