New Canaan Republicans Nominate Candidates For November

New Canaan Republicans notably chose not to endorse incumbent First Selectman Kevin Moynihan during their nominating caucus Tuesday night.

NEW CANAAN, CT — New Canaan Republicans gathered on Tuesday night at Saxe Middle School to nominate a slate of candidates for the upcoming November municipal election.

The party overwhelmingly voted to nominate former Board of Education Chair Dionna Carlson for first selectman over incumbent Kevin Moynihan. Carlson garnered 724 votes, Moynihan received 266, and Town Council member Kimberly Norton had 217 votes.

Carlson will face off against Democrat Amy Murphy Carroll, who was nominated by the New Canaan Democratic Town Committee last week.
