New Canaan School Employee Resigns After Police Investigation: Report

The State's Attorney determined the matter involving the School Activity Fund was civil and didn't warrant criminal prosecution.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A school employee resigned following an investigation into finances related to the School Activity Fund.

School Activity Funds were audited recently and 30 areas that needed improvement were found, according to the New Canaan Advertiser. The funds are related to interscholastic sports, field trips, student government, clubs and other activities.

There is more than $1 million in funds at the high school.

A separate police investigation was conducted during spring 2016 after allegations of missing money surfaced. The State's Attorney decided the matter was civil in nature and wouldn't be criminally prosecuted. An employee resigned.
