New Canaan Schools 6.4% Budget Hike Proposed
Superintendent Bryan Luizzi said the reason for the proposed increase is due to health insurance and other matters.

New Canaan Superintendent Bryan Luizzi has proposed a 6.4 percent increase to the school system’s operating budget.
Of that, four percent is needed to cover increased health care costs projected to be $3.7 million, according to New Canaan News. The budget would grow from $83.2 million to $88.5 million.
Enrollment is expected to grow from 1,594 to 1,628 in grades K-5. The budget calls for six new personnel, including five teachers.
