New Canaan's game against top seed Windsor in the semifinals of the Class L football playoffs will be played at East Haven. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The Rams, who stopped a two-point conversion with under two minutes remaining to hold off New London 27-26 on Tuesday, are one win away from a sixth consecutive trip to the state finals.

While New Canaan (10-1) is seeking a ninth state championship, Windsor has never made it to a state final. The Warriors (11-0) advanced with a 14-7 win over Notre Dame of West Haven.

Junior quarterback Quinn Fleeting, the son of Windsor coach Rob Fleeting, completed 10 of 18 passes for 199 yards, including an 88-yard touchdown strike to Ryheime Moore.

Windsor boasts a physical defense, led by Cole Ormsby, who recorded his 12th sack of the season against Notre Dame of West Haven.

The Warriors allowed only 178 yards on the ground, nearly 100 below Notre Dame's season average. Kymm Gordon rushed for 143 yards to lead Windsor.

Windsor, which plays in the Central Connecticut Conference, surrendered an average of only 7.9 points per game during the regular season while scoring 39.7.  The Warriors held six opponents to seven points or fewer.

If New Canaan advances, it could get a rematch against Masuk in the finals. The Panthers face Hand in the other semifinal in a battle of undefeated teams. That game is set for 7 p.m. at West Haven.

Last season, Masuk, which is led by UConn-bound quarterback Casey Cochran, defeated New Canaan 50-20 in the final, ending the Rams' four-year reign as state champions.
