7th Grade Black Takes Ridgefield Invitational

The and partner stunt championships will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Fairfield Ludlowe High School.
There will be 17 schools from the conference competing. The ticket prices are $5 for students and $7 for adults.
The event includes routines performed by full cheerleading teams from the FCIAC along with teams in the Partner Stunt competition.
The event moves to Fairfield Ludlowe after taking place at the Zeoli Field House in Wilton for the past four years.

The New Canaan seventh grade Black basketball team rebounded from two tough losses last weekend to win the Ridgefield Basketball Invitational Tournament for the second year in a row.

The week started off on Wednesday evening with a convincing win over host Ridgefield, 45-23. New Canaan’s solid play continued with a 58-25 win over the South Windsor Attack on Friday and a 55-33 victory against Brookfield on Saturday.
But on Sunday, New Canaan played its best basketball of the season, scoring a convincing 59-47 victory over rival Darien and a dominating 67-40 triumph over Greenwich in the afternoon.
After the game, the Greenwich coach congratulated the New Canaan team noting that, “in all my years of coaching, I have never seen a team play as hard as the New Canaan seventh grade Black team.”
