After a week off, the New Canaan girls basketball team continues its pursuit of an FCIAC playoff spot on Friday when the Rams host Norwalk (4:45 p.m.) in a pivotal contest.
New Canaan has been off since suffering a 54-47 loss to Trinity Catholic on Jan. 20, a defeat that dropped the Rams to 8-5 overall and 6-5 in FCIAC playoff.
Norwalk (8-5, 6-5) has dropped two in after eight straight victories and is coming off Tuesday's 50-37 loss to defending FCIAC champion Trumbull.
New Canaan and Norwalk have each fallen out of a playoff spot, but they are just one just one-half game behind Trinity Catholic (7-5) in the FCIAC's tightly bunched standings.
The New Canaan boys (1-10, 0-9) visit Norwalk in a 7 p.m. start. The Rams have been off since last Friday's 86-43 drubbing to Trinity Catholic.
