After giving undefeated Trumbull a scare in its previous game, the girls basketball team looks to start another winning streak on Friday when the Rams host McMahon at 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, the Rams jumped out to an eight-point halftime lead against Trumbull, but the Eagles outscored New Canaan 32-11 in the second half en route to a 56-43 victory. It was Trumbull's 29th consecutive FCIAC triumph.

After defeating Stamford Academy 70-44 in the consolation game of the La Vista tournament, the Rams struggled on Tuesday in a 66-27 loss to Trumbull that dropped them to 1-5.
Still, McMahon rates as the FCIAC's most enigmatic team. Expected to contend for an FCIAC playoff spot, the Senators dropped to 0-6 following Tuesday's 75-54 loss to Norwalk.
And some of the losses haven't been that close, as four of the six defeats have been by double figures. McMahon's best effort was an 85-83 double overtime loss to undefeated Danbury in the second game of the season.
