Swimmers Maddie Rusch of New Canaan and KC Moss of Wilton have been named the winners of the BlueStreak-Overtime FCIAC Female Players of the Week award.

Rusch, who helped lead New Canaan to its second straight FCIAC title, set a league record in the 50 freestyle and also won the 100 butterfly.

In addition, she was a member of the winning 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams that also included Jenna Egan, Alex Alioupoulious and Cara Egan as New Canaan won consecutive FCIAC titles for the first time since 1978-79.

Moss was named the Swimmer of the Meet as she set school records in the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley and also was a member of Wilton's first-place team in the 200 medley relay.

Nine New Canaan teams have advanced in the Fairfield County Football League playoffs. Because of last week's postponements, quarterfinal games in each age bracket will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday to complete the playoffs before Thanksgiving. Semifinal games are set for this weekend will the finals scheduled for next weekend.
