It turned out New Canaan's Max Pacioretty wasn't as seriously injured as first thought.
Pacioretty, who wasn't expected to play after suffering ligament damage to his wrist on Monday, had two goals and an assist in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers in Montreal.

It was the third career two-goal game for the 22-year-old Pacioretty, who recorded his first three-point contest in the NHL.
The left wing now has four goals and five assists in nine games this season in his return to the NHL. He suffered a severe concussion and fractured vertebra on a hit from Boston defenseman Zdeno Chara in Montreal on March 8.

The Canadiens begin a home-and-home series against the defending Stanley Cup champions in Boston on Thursday. It will be Pacioretty's first appearance against the Bruins since the incident.
The New Canaan boys soccer team clinched a berth in the FCIAC playoffs Wednesday with a 3-0 victory over Fairfield Ludlowe.
--Jean Luke Ferrandino, Tim Pritchard and Steven Valente scored for the Rams (8-3-5), who grabbed the No. 8 seed and will play at top Norwalk (13-1-2) on Friday. The Bears tuned up for the playoffs by battling Greenwich to a scoreless tie on Wednesday.
Trumbull (11-1-4) jumped over Darien in the No. 2 spot with a 3-1 win over Trinity Catholic on Wednesday and will entertain No. 7 seed Wilton (9-5-2) .
Darien (11-2-3) slipped to third in the final standings and will host No. 6 Westhill (9-5-2) in thequarterfinals on Friday.
Westhill completed its remarkable run to the playoffs with a 3-0 victory over Fairfield Warde on Wednesday.
The Vikings appeared headed for a long season when they had to forfeit three early victories after it was learned that one of their players competed in a men's league.
However, Westhill recovered from an 0-5 start by going 9-0-2 andwill enter the playoffs as the league's hottest team.
In the final quarterfinal matchup, No. 4 Staples ( 10-2-4), which is seeking afourth consecutive league title, is at home for No. 5 seed Greenwich (9-4-3).
Westhill, Wilton and New Canaan all tied with 29 points, but Westhill secured the sixth seed based on having thebest record among the three team. Wilton grabbed the No. 7 seed by virtue of its win over New Canaan.
The quarterfinal games will be played at the sites of the higher-seeded teams. The semifinals are set for Tuesday at 5 and 7 p.m. at Fairfield Ludlowe with the championship game being played on Thursday at Norwalk at 7 p.m.
The matchups for the FCIAC field hockey playoffs also were determined Wednesday, and in a scheduling quirk, No. 6 New Canaan (8-4-1-0) also will face Norwalk (10-2-1-0), the No. 3 seed, in that sport as well in the quarterfinals.
Fairfield Ludlowe (5-6-1-1) clinched a playoff berth Wednesday with a 2-1 victory at McMahon.
The Falcons grabbed the No. 7 seed and will meet No. 2 seed Wilton (11-2-0-0) in the quarterfinals. Ludlowe finished with 12 points, jumping ahead of Westhill and Greenwich in the final standings.
Westhill (5-7-1-1) clinched the No. 8 seed despite losing to New Canaan 3-0 on Wednesday. The Vikings finished in a tie with Greenwich with 11 points, but won the tiebreaker based on their victory over the Cardinals during the regular season.
The Vikings' reward is a matchup with top seed Darien (13-0-0-0), which has not since 2007.
In the other quarterfinal, No. 4 Staples (7-2-3-1) battles No. 5 Stamford (8-4-1-0). The Black Knights won a tiebreaker with New Canaan because of a victory over the Rams in the regular season.
All quarterfinal games will be played at McMahon on Saturday and the times will be announced on Thursday.
