New Canaan Shooting Death Preliminarily Ruled Suicide
Police found a 41-year-old woman with a gunshot wound.

NEW CANAAN, CT- Police believe that the shooting death in New Canaan Tuesday was a suicide.
Police got a call March 22 around 1:30 p.m. that a 41-year-old Briarwood, N.Y. woman was armed with a handgun and threatening suicide, said Police Chief Leon Krolikowski.

The woman was on the property of 721 North Wilton Rd. Officers found the victim with a single gunshot wound. She was treated at the scene, but didn't survive.

"Further investigation determined that this incident is a suicide," Krolikowski said. "However, this finding is contingent on receiving a report from the Connecticut Chief Medical Examiner’s Office."
