New Canaan Softball Grads Pitch, Score for Babson College this Past Weekend

Former New Canaan High School softball team members Ali Reilly and Lindsey Schmid both played for Babson College this weekend.

Submitted by Jonathan Schmid:

Two former New Canaan Softball stars and now Babson College teammates played in a fall ball double header versus Brandeis and Salve Regina colleges this past Sunday.

Ali Reilly, the former New Canaan pitching star, made her college debut in a start versus Brandeis. Reilly pitched five innings where she let up only an unearned run and and scattering a few hits while striking out three.

Ali also saw time in the second game versus Salve Regina and was equally impressive. Reilly. Despite he pressures of her college debut, was her usual composed and unflappable self.

Lindsey Schmid, former New Canaan and now Babson captain, went three for three with a walk. She had a double and scored three runs for the day. A highlight came in the 7th inning when Lindsey threw out a runner at first base from her right field position on what looked like it would be an easy hit for the batter.

Both Schmid and Reilly represented New Canaan well on the field at Babson.
