Marinelli faces former top assistant Della Volpe
faces former top assistant on Friday when the third-ranked Rams host Fairfield Warde at Dunning Stadium at 7 p.m.
Before taking the Warde job in 2009, Della Volpe spent 10 seasons as the Rams' offensive coordinator and helped install the offense that enabled New Canaan to begin its state championship run (five straight appearances in the finals).

Warde (1-1) is coming off a tough loss, having squandered a 16-point halftime lead in a 29-19 defeat to Darien.
