New Canaan senior captain Steph Benko recently won the 3,200-meter run in the Class L indoor track championship with a personal best time of. 11:20.17.
Sophmore Isabel Hetherington placed third in the 1,600 meters with a personal record of 5:23.11.
Other top finishers for the Rams included junior Isabel Herde, who was fifth in the in shot put with a throw of 31 feet, 10.75 inches. Senior captain Cristina Konstantinovic was 24th the 300 meters with a time of 45.72.

In Saturday's state Open championship in New Haven, Hetherington placed ninth in the 1,600 meters with a personal record of 5:21.40 and Benko was 13th in the 3,200 meters with a time of 11:44.03.

The New Canaan High School girls hockey team concluded a 19-1 regular season with a 3-1 victory over rival Darien on Saturday at the Darien Ice Rink.
Olivia Hompe scored two goals, her 59th and 60th of the season, for the Rams, and Holly Burwick had three assists. Corbett Ripley scored the other goal.
In a scheduling quirk, New Canaan and Darien (11-6-1) will meet again in the FCIAC semifinals on Wednesday at the Darien Ice Rink at 8 p.m.
In the first semifinal, No. 2 seed Ridgefield (13-5-1) takes on third-seeded Greenwich (12-5-1) at 6 p.m.

Christian Keator scored two goals Saturday, leading the St. Joseph boys hockey team to a 4-2 victory over New Canaan at the Shelton Rinks.
Bryan Canforatta and Ryan Corcoran also tallied for the Cadets, who jumped to a 2-0 lead after the first period and goals in the second and third stanzas to improve to 13-6.
Jake Granito and Tyler Manchuck had the goals for New Canaan, which dropped to 11-7-1.
The Cadets prevailed despite getting outshot by a 28-12 margin. Marc Van Etten made 26 saves for St. Joseph and Chris Koennecke stopped eight shots for New Canaan.
The loss hurt New Canaan's chances of making the tier one playoffs under the FCIAC's new postseason format.
The Rams (7-4) in the FCIAC are tied for fifth in the standings with Fairfield and Triinity Catholic wiith 14 ppints and lost to both teams, meaning they would lose tiebreakers to each.
New Canaan closes its league schedule on Monday against Wilton, needing a win to keep its tier one playoffs alive. A loss will drop the Rams down to the tier two plays.
Trinity Catholic has its final FCIAC game on Wednesday against Westhill while Fairfield has a tough finale against Darien, also on Wednesday.

The New Canaan boys basketball team hosts Harding on Monday (5:30 p.m.) in the first of two season-ending home games this week. The Rams (1-17, 0-16) entertain Wilton in their final game on Wednesday.
Harding (4-14, 3-15) is coming off a 51-46 victory over Trumbull while New Canaan suffered a 63-46 loss to Danbury last Wednesday.
