New Canaan residents Troy Lynch, Stephen Franze and Kieran McQuilkin are members of the King Low-Heywood Thomas School boys hockey team that has reached the championship game of the FAA playoffs. Lynch and Franze serve as captains for the Vikings.
King defeated Harvey 6-3 in the semifinals on Thursday and will play host Rye Country Day School in the finals on Saturday at 3 p.m. Rye advanced with a 9-3 win over Hamden Hall.

New Canaan's Kevin Hall is seeded 13th in the 113-pound weight class and Nick White 22nd at 195 pounds for this weekend's state Open wrestling championships in New Haven.

The competition is set for Friday and Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
First- and second-round matches will be contested on Friday starting at 4 p.m. After they have been completed, the consolation bouts get under way around 8 p.m.
On Saturday, the quarterfinal and second-round consolation matches begin at 10:15 a.m. They will be followed by the consolation quarterfinals and championship semifinals as wrestling continues through the day.
The finals are set to be begin on Saturday at 6 p.m. with champions to be crowned in each weight class.

The girls hockey team looks for another FCIAC championship on Saturday when the Rams take on Greenwich in the title game at 4 p.m. at the Terry Conners Rink in Stamford.
Olivia Hompe scored four goals on Wednesday as New Canaan reached the final with a 6-1 win over Darien on Wednesday while Greenwich rallied past Ridgefield 4-3 in the other semifinal behind Hannah Jeffrey's hat trick.
New Canaan and Greenwich played twice during the regular season with the Rams posting a 7-1 win on Jan. 14 and a 6-2 victory on Feb. 13. In the two games, Hompe combined for nine goals, scoring five in the first meeting and four in the second contest.
In the last two seasons, New Canaan has not lost to an FCIAC opponent, falling twice to Simsbury, once last year and once this year.

The New Canaan boys hockey team takes on Wilton in the FCIAC's tier one playoffs on Saturday.
It is a rematch of Monday's game in which the Rams rolled to a 7-1 win over the Warriors to complete a 12-7-1 regular season.
In the other first-round game, St. Joseph faces Trinity Catholic. Darien and Ridgefield received byes in the six-team playoffs.
Darien, the top seed, faces the New Canaan-Wilton winner in the semifinal, while Ridgefield awaits the St. Joseph-Trinity Catholic winner.
