The New Canaan girls hockey team returned to its winning ways Tuesday with an 8-0 victory over Fairfield.
Olivia Hompe, who was held scoreless in Monday's 4-3 loss to Simsbury, had two goals and four assists against the Mustangs as the Rams improved to 17-1.
Holly Burwick and Corbett Ripley each scored twice and Emma Rosenstein once for New Canaan.

Britt Gardells (5) and Sarah Klearman (1) combined to make six saves for the Rams.
The goals for Hompe were her 53rd and 54th of the season. She also has 28 assists for 82 points on the season.

Courtney Rogers almost singlehandedly made sure the girl basketball team would stop its losing streak on Tuesday.
Rogers erupted for 32 points, including eight 3-pointers, as the Rams defeated Greenwich 69-57 to end their four-game slide.
Sarah Mannelly added 20 points for the Rams, who improved to 9-8 overall and 7-8 in the FCIAC play.
Caroline Barrett scored 19 points to lead Greenwich, which dropped to 3-14 and 3-12.

It wasn't pretty, but the Greenwich boys basketball team managed to snap its three-game losing streak on Tuesday.
Alejandro Rodriguez and Alex McMurray each scored nine points as the Cardinals overcame a sluggish first half to post a 46-39 victory over New Canaan, which nearly earned its first FCIAC victory over the season.
Greenwich trailed for most of the first half, but ended the second quarter with a 10-1 run to close within 26-22 at the intermission after being down 25-12. The Cardinals pulled into a 34-34 tie after the third quarter.
Greenwich improved to 10-5 overall and 8-5 in the FCIAC while New Canaan dropped to 1-14 and 0-13.
Willie Burger scored 16 points for New Canaan, which jumped out to a 17-8 lead after the first quarter.
However, Greenwich's clamped down thereafter, allowing 22 points over the final three quarters, including just five in the fourth period.
Greg Donlic, C.J. Byrd and Sem Kroon each scored eight points for Greenwich, which is fighting for an FCIAC playoff spot.

The New Canaan boys hockey team suffered its third straight loss Tuesday, falling to Trinity Catholic 4-3 at the Terry Conners Rink.
John Shanahan scored the game winner just over five minutes into the overtime for the Crusaders, who rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the third period.
New Canaan, which was coming off a 5-4 loss to Fairfield, dropped to 8-6-1. while Trinity Catholic improved to 5-10.
Dylan Hart, Trent Nader and Chip Glover scored to give the Rams their 3-1 lead.
Jamey Shea, Steven Lambrinakos and Jeff Cortese also scored for the Crusaders. Cortese's tying goal came with just over a minute remaining in regulation.
The loss drops New Canaan, which is 4-3 in the FCIAC, in a five-way tie for fith with Fairfield, Trinity Catholic, Westhill and Trumbull.
The top six teams make the tier one playoffs under a new postseason format adopted by the FCIAC.
Ridgefield, Darien, Wilton and St. Joseph hold down the top four spots in the conference standings.
