New Canaan Teachers Get Raises in New Potential Contract

An arbitration panel decided the New Canaan teachers new contract on Nov. 13.

The Town Council can approve the contract by taking no action or reject it with a 2/3rds vote. 

Teachers will get a 10.2 percent raise over three years, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.

PPO health plans will switch to a high deductible savings account plan, which is what the Board of Education wanted.

Teachers will also have a 10 percent coinsurance policy after the deductible is met up until they hit the annual out of pocket maximum.
