New Canaan Teen Cited for Drug, Alcohol Possession

Police found the marijuana and alcohol during a motor vehicle stop on Main Street.

A New Canaan teen is facing drug and alcohol possession charges after he was stopped by police for driving a car with an inoperable headlight.

The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. Oct. 10 on Main Street, according to The Advertiser. The police officer noticed the smell of marijuana when inspecting the car and then saw that the 18-year-old had glassy and bloodshot eyes.

Police reportedly saw a marijuana grinder and several plastic bags, including one that contained marijuana.

The driver was cited for possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor, according to The Advertiser story that can be found here.
