New Canaan Teen Injured in Merritt Rollover

The crash occurred Tuesday night in Stamford.

A New Canaan teen was taken to Stamford Hospital with a possible serious injury after a rollover crash on the Merritt Parkway Tuesday night.

The crash happened on the northbound side in Stamford past exit 35. The Ford F150 was traveling in the left lane and the operator attempted to merge into the right lane, but lost control.

The vehicle hit the median metal guardrail, rolled onto its roof and came to a rest in the center of the roadway. The operator, a New Canaan 16-year-old was taken to the hospital with a suspected serious injury.

The cause of the crash was speed and wet conditions, police said. A teen passenger from Stamford had minor injuries.
