New Canaan To Face Hall-Conard For Girls Hockey State Title
Hall-Conard advanced to the final with a 2-1 double-over victory over Simsbury, which was the only team to defeat New Canaan during the regular season; the title game is set for Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Yale's Ingals Rink
The New Canaan High School girls hockey team will try to win its third consecutive state championship when it takes on Hall-Conard in the finals on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Yale's Ingalls Rink.
The Rams (23-1) might have been looking foward to having a chance to avenge their only loss of the season, a 4-3 defeat to Simsbury on Feb. 6.
However, Conard-Hall reached the final with a 2-1 double-overime victory over the Indians on Thursday at Trinity College as Emily Corrales scored the winning goal with 9:02 left in the second overtime. Laura Sorgio recorded 31 saves as the coop team improved to 19-3.

New Canaan advanced to the final with a 6-1 victory over Ridgefield on Thursday at the Terry Conners Rink as Olivia Hompe scored four goals.
New Canaan and Hall-Conard did not play during the regular season.
