New Canaan Town Hall To Change Public Office Hours

The move is designed to help public employees avoid rush hour traffic, and give residents earlier access to Town Hall.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The Town of New Canaan will move up public office hours at Town Hall by half an hour to "help Town employees who commute on the Merritt Parkway and other congested arteries to better manage their daily commutes," announced First Selectman Kevin Moynihan.

Beginning on Feb. 19, Town Hall public office hours will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Currently, public office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the move to earlier hours is also designed to benefit residents by allowing them earlier access to Town Hall.

"The Town is considering having special Summer Hours that would include one late-day of closing hours (such as Mondays or Wednesdays until 6:00 p.m.) and Friday closing at 1:30 p.m.," said Moynihan. "Comments from the public on this proposal are welcome."
