New Canaan Urges Residents To Register For Emergency Notifications
Town officials urge residents to register for New Canaan's Everbridge emergency notification service.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Town officials urge any New Canaan residents who have not done so already to register for the town's Everbridge emergency notification service.
According to a news release provided by the town, recent widespread internet outages provided another example of the value of being informed during local emergencies.
If a resident or their family members, friends or neighbors do not receive the emergency notifications currently, they may use this information and encourage others to register for the service by going to the town website at www.newcanaan.info/everbridge and using the "Creating a New Account" feature on the Everbridge page.

Participation in the system is not mandatory, however it is highly recommended so that town officials can reach residents with public safety and other urgent messages by phone, text and email, town officials said. There is no charge for this service.
The Everbridge platform enables the town to alert residents and all community members about a variety of events ranging from severe weather, power outages, missing persons and other emergencies, as well as more routine and targeted announcements such as road closures, road repaving and utility maintenance on particular streets.
