New Canaan Woman Charged With DUI

The woman was arrested after a motor vehicle stop.

NEW CANAAN, CT- A New Canaan woman was charged with DUI after a motor vehicle stop May 22.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling on New Norwalk Road without a rear marker light around 2 a.m., police said. The vehicle was pulled over and the officer smelled the odor of alcohol.

Operator Jennifer Joneja, 19, failed field sobriety tests and a BAC breath test came back with a result of .125, which is over the limit, police said.

She was charged with DUI and failure to illuminate a rear marker plate.
