
NEW CANAAN, CT—A DUI arrest led to another DUI arrest on an active warrant by New Canaan Police.
An officer was on patrol on Park Street Sept. 11 shortly after midnight when he observed a vehicle swerving between the north and southbound lanes, police said.
The vehicle was pulled over and operator Carol Ellis, 54, of New Canaan smelled of alcohol, according to police. She failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

She refused a chemical BAC test.
Ellis was charged with DUI and failure to drive right. She was given a $250 bond.

Ellis had an outstanding warrant from a 2009 case involving a motor vehicle accident on Oenoke Ridge Road near Oenoke Lane. Police obtained a search warrant for her BAC in that case. She was charged with DUI and evading responsibility.
She was released after posting the $250 and $5,000 bonds for the cases.
