The IRS has announced a new online service giving taxpayers the ability to view, print, and download tax transcripts. Previously, you could request a copy of the transcript but would have to wait 5-10 business days to receive it in the mail.
A transcript is not an exact copy of your tax return, but it does show most line items from your tax return (Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ) as it was originally filed, including any accompanying forms and schedules.
